Head-on collision kills Alabama man Saturday night, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed Saturday night in a two-car, head-on collision, state troopers said.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of an Alexander City man.
Jimmy L. Thomas, 67, was fatally injured when the 2011 Chevrolet Impala he was driving collided head-on with the 2005 GMC Yukon driven by Billy J. Harris, 52, also of Alexander City.
Thomas was pronounced deceased at the scene. Billy J. Harris and Shirley A. Harris, 72, of Dadeville, who was a passenger in the Yukon, were both injured and transported to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 259 near the 7 mile marker, approximately eight miles south of Alexander City, in Coosa County.
