Alabama state police are investigating the death of a man who died early Saturday morning in a county jail.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency agents were called in to help Covington County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigat the death of Justin Aaron Blackmon, 34, of Andalusia, Alabama.

Blackmon died while in custody at the Covington County Jail, State Bureau of Investigation agents said Saturday.

His death was reported at 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

Details of about the circumstances of Blackmon’s death were not immediately made public.

SBI officials said an autopsy will be performed.
