Alabama Skies: Cold weather returns. Will it last until Christmas?

We’ll have a range of cold, windy temperatures in the north to warm, pleasant temperatures across Alabama Monday during the day as a strong cold front moves through the state. By nighttime, most of us will be quite chilly, especially with gusty winds dropping wind chill values into the teens and lower 20s.

We’ll stay cool and sunny for a few days, but models are hinting at another wet weekend for the holiday.

Of course, we are still several days away from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so it could change, but most reliable models are showing temperatures in the 60s with some rain throughout the day Sunday. One model is even showing some storms, especially towards the southern regions.

North Alabama

Sunny with a high near 52. Windy with gusts up to 20 miles per hour. Monday night, clear with a low of 23. Breezy, with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Wind chill values near 17.
