An Alabama was arrested after leading Mississippi state troopers on a multi-county chase Monday afternoon.

Officials from the Mississippi Highway Patrol report that Frederick Lewis, 20, of Moundville, Alabama, was arrested and charged with speeding and felony fleeing. More charges may be added as the investigation of the incident continues.

Trooper reportedly detected Lewis speeding in a 2020 red Chevy Camaro near the South Brookhaven exit in Lincoln County. When officers tried to make a stop., Lewis reported fled, leading a chase through Lincoln, Copiah and Hind counties.

Leis then reportedly abandoned the vehicle and ran into the woods near Terry High School.
