Biden laughs at Tuberville’s praise for bill he voted against

President Biden took another jab Thursday at Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville for celebrating the passage of a broadband internet bill that Tuberville voted against.

Speaking in South Carolina, Biden pointed out a number of Republicans who take credit for White House initiatives that they actually voted against.

Among those was an infrastructure investment bill that includes $1.4 billion for Alabama to improve broadband internet access.

“The distinguished senator from the state of Alabama — former coach of the university — strongly opposed the bipartisan infrastructure law (and) is now hailing its passage,” Biden said.

“He said, quote, ‘Great to see Alabama receive critical funds to boost ongoing broadband efforts'” the president said, a reference to a Tuberville tweet from last week.

“It is great,” Biden said, laughing. “That’s all right, because I’m one of those guys that believes in conversion.”

It was a continuation of recent barb-throwing between Biden and Tuberville.
