Alabama transportation chief arrested on harassment charges

Alabama’s top transportation leader was arrested Monday on charges of harassment, state media reported.
John Cooper, the director of the Alabama Department of Transportation, turned himself into the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office on Monday morning.
The 75-year-old Cooper posted a $500 bond and was released approximately 30 minutes after he was arrested.
Records show Cooper’s charge was harassment/intimidation, but officials would not provide additional details on the case against him.
