An early morning accident Thursday involving three tractor-trailers left one man dead and injured three others, state troopers reported.

James Davis, 55, of Kingsport, Tennessee, was killed when his tractor-trailer was struck by another tractor-trailer driving by a Mississippi driver, troopers said.

Prior to the fatal collision, troopers said, the Mississippi driver’s truck was struck by yet another tractor-trailer, driven by a Texas man.

Both of the other drivers and a passenger in the Mississippi driver’s truck were taken to the hospital, troopers said.

The accident happened on U.S. 80 near mile marker 53 in Marengo County.
