An Alabama man has been charged with child abuse after police believe he attacked his 14-year-old daughter who allegedly told her mother that she believed her father was having an affair, a TV station reported.
Christopher Andrighetti, 39, was arrested by Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies, WHNT-TV reported.
Deputies were called after Andrighetti’s 14-year-old daughter allegedly fled her father’s wrath and sought help at a neighbor’s house.
Police say Andrighetti was found hiding in a closet of the Town and Country Trailer Park near Russellville, Alabama.
Deputies reported seeing broken beer bottles and other evidence of a disturbance, along with drops of blood outside the mobile home, the station reported.
Inside deputies found more evidence of a fight. Deputies said the 14-year-old allegedly had told her mother that she suspected Andrighetti was having an affair and that he has a social media account, apparently something that was not well known.
The teen victim said Andrighetti then began hitting her with his fists, a shower curtail rod and more items.
The teen allegedly escaped when he told her to clean up the mess and she spotted the front door open and fled.
