A North Alabama couple says the wheels of justice are spinning too slowly in the case of their daughter’s death two weeks ago.
Tonya Junior, 27, was killed in a mysterious car crash on Aug. 16.
A report from the Russellville Police Department says the accident happened just after midnight. Reports say the driver of the vehicle, in which Junior was a passenger, was reportedly driving 70 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour speed zone with the headlights off.
Two weeks later, investigators of the wreck have not indicated if the driver will face charges. Police are saying the wreck is still under investigation.
Kathy Morton and Ric Junior told a WAFF in Muscle Shoals that they are left with memories and unanswered questions in their only child’s death.
The couple said Tonya Junior’s 6-year-old son is also left asking questions about what happened to his mother.
“Her life was a lot more important than the lack of attention that is being shown to her,” said her father Ric Junior told WAFF.
“Our daughter’s life meant something and right now I feel like it doesn’t mean anything around here,” said her mother Kathy Morton.
