An Alabama woman charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting of a 5-year-old boy during a family argument has been indicted in an unrelated attempted murder case.

Rickkia Allen, 29, was indicted Dec. 6 on the charge stemming from a September 2018 case in which she’s accused of intentionally hitting a man with her car, according to court records unsealed Tuesday.

Allen was released from jail on $150,000 bond on the same day she was arrested, the documents obtained by Al.com show. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office requested her bond be revoked last week following her arrest in the slaying of Ta’Narius “TJ” Moore.

She awaits a preliminary hearing in the shooting case.

Allen is accused of being involved in the argument outside a north Birmingham apartment complex this month in which she and another woman fired weapons at each other, Sgt. Johnny Williams said at the time. The sheriff’s office said the boy’s mother was also involved in the argument but likely won’t be charged.

The kindergartner was in a car nearby when a bullet struck his head, Williams added.
