A new report indicates nearly $500 million is spent in the U.S. each year on pet Halloween costumes. This year, it’s estimated 29 million people will dress up their pets for the trick-or-treat season.
While those crazy folks in Kansas are at the top of the list, Alabama is no. 6 on the list of states that are most likely to buy pet Halloween costumes.
10 Top States For Dog Costumes This Year
Our findings show that the middle of the country and even the west coast are gaining interest in dressing their pets up for Halloween this year, whereas last year, it was mostly the states east of the Mississippi River who were howling in excitement.

Methodology
We used Google Trends to search Halloween costumes for dogs and determine the states that had the most interest in this topic over the past 30 days.2
Google Trends analyzes the popularity of search queries performed over time via Google Search. This analysis provides directional data of what people in a specific geographic region are searching for most and, thus, may be most concerning for citizens.
