Alabama city records ninth murder after dead body found with multiple gunshot wounds

An Alabama city recorded its ninth murder Monday when police found a man dead, reportedly with multiple gunshot wounds.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said the male body was discovered by officers on Tremont Street.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson and Fulford both identified the victim as Anthony Dewayne Howard, 44, AKA Cojack.
“Around 4:15 Monday morning, officers responded to the 1200 block of Tremont Street in reference to a shooting,” Fulford said. “Upon arrival, they found a 44-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.”
Fulford said there are no suspects at the moment and the incident remains under investigation by the SPD.
This is the ninth murder in Selma this year.
