Police have identified the two men killed Saturday during an early morning shootout that involved at least 50 shots being fired at a South Alabama park complex.

Devonta Givens, 25, of Troy, died at Troy Regional Medical Center shortly after the incident. Jhakyndall Johnson, 25, of Troy, died later Saturday at a Dothan hospital.

Three others were injured in the shooting, and one person remains in stable but critical condition in a Montgomery hospital, according to a statement Monday from Troy Police Chief Randal

The incident took place about 2 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Pike County Cattleman’s Complex, located in the 12,000 block of U.S. 231 South.

“Officers were dispatched to assist with dispersing a large crowd,” Barr said in a statement. “As the officers were enroute, multiple shots were fired in the parking lot of the complex.”

Bystander video records more than 50 shots being fired.

“When officers arrived, they located two victims on the scene,” Barr’s statement said. “Three additional victims were transported by private vehicle to Troy Regional.”

Ed Whatley, Pike County Cattleman’s Association,  said the Cattlemen’s facility was leased by an individual for a rap concert.

“The individual has leased the facility a number of times before and there have not been any problems or concerns,” he said.

Whatley said the Pike County Cattlemen’s Association does not provide security for leased events.
