An Alabama state prison inmate escaped early Saturday and is currently on the run.

Alabama Department of Corrections officials say Danny Ray Tucker appears to have escaped the Hamilton Community Based Facility in Marion County at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Tucker is described as being 43 years-old, white, approximately 6-foot, 2-inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.

He was serving a 20-year prison sentence for property theft.
