1 dead, 4 injured in multi-car collision, state troopers report

An Alabama woman was killed Monday after a multi-vehicle crash on a state highway, Alabama state troopers said.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:28 p.m. Monday, and claimed the life of an Eclectic, Alabama, woman.
Tina M. McDonald, 54, was critically injured when the 2016 Nissan Versa that she was driving was struck in the rear by the 1999 Lincoln Continental driven by Margaret L. Liles, 40, of Montgomery.
After the initial collision, the Versa that McDonald was driving struck a guardrail.
The Continental that Liles was driving then collided head-on with the 2015 Lexus RX 350 driven by Tammy S. Adams, 51, of Dadeville.
McDonald was transported to the Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, where she later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased. Margaret Liles and a 1-year-old passenger in the Continental were both injured and transported for medical treatment. Tammy S. Adams and a passenger in the RX 350, Catherine C. Adams, 77, of Montgomery, were also injured and transported to Russell Medical Center for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 63 near the 15 mile marker, approximately five miles north of Eclectic, in Elmore County.
