An Alabama man has been arrested after state police say he was posing as a police officer and making traffic stops on motorists.

John Milhorn, 72, of Springville, was arrested Friday and charged with impersonating a peace officer.

Milhorn was booked into the Jefferson County Jail with a $100,000 bond.

State police said they received a tip that someone was posing as a police officer and pulling over vehicles in Trussville, Alabama.

After investigating, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials said Milhorn was identified as the suspect, located and arrested.
