A suspect in the death of an Alabama man has now been charged with a sex crime, jail records indicate.

Kyle Lewter, 36, was initially arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of Derek Walls, 54, of Harvest, Alabama.

Investigators said the pair had gotten into an altercation which ended with Walls dead.

Lewter’s arrest record online now shows a charge of sexual torture – sex abuse using an inanimate object.

Investigators have not released details of what they believe occurred that led up to Walls’ death.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to an address on Capshaw Road in the Harvest community on Thursday.

When they arrived they found Walls unresponsive inside the residence.
