An Alabama judge was hospitalized Saturday after being shot during a domestic disturbance; law enforcement said the judge’s own son pulled the trigger.
Montgomery Judge Johnny Hardwick was shot at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday during a domestic dispute in which investigators alleged Hardwick’s son, Khalfani A. Hardwick, 36, shot the judge and then fled the scene.
Khalfani Hardwick was later arrested and has been charged with domestic violence and possessing a firearm after being forbidden to do so.
What led to the shooting was unclear.
