An Alabama mom has been charged with pouring hot liquid on her 10-month-old child’s face, authorities said.

Jasmine Boykin was charged with aggravated child abuse, officials with the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office said.

Police investigators said the baby had burns on its face, throat and mouth.

The child was also reportedly malnourished.

The investigation began when the baby was taken to a hospital for treatment of the burns and medical staff called law enforcement after suspecting abuse.

Boykin was released after posting a $60,000 bond.
