Alabama law enforcement was investigating the Tuesday morning death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed on Interstate 65.

Birmingham police said the accident happened at approximately 6:31 a.m. on I-65 near University Boulevard.

The adult, male victim was pronounced death at the scene, Birmingham police said.

Investigators and crash scene reconstruction experts are working the scene.
