A crash involving multiple vehicles left more than a dozen people injured Friday night with nine people critically injured.

The accident happened Friday night at John Rodgers Drive and Gun Club Road in Birmingham, WBRC-TV reported.

Several area fire departments responded to the multi-car scene.

AL.com reported that the accident happened as two vehicles were performing donuts when the vehicles collided and one struck a crowd of onlookers.

James Spann posted a video of the incident on social media which was edited, he said, to avoid showing the collision with people but did show the cars doing donuts.
