A woman was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound inside an Alabama business over the weekend.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reported that the victim was a white female, but her identity has not been determined.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said exactly what happened to the adult woman was uncertain.

“The nature of how the decedent sustained the injury is not yet clear,” Yates said.

Her body was found Saturday morning in the 3700 block of Veterans Memorial Drive in Adamsville, Alabama.
