An officer with the public safety department at Alabama A&M University was arrested on sex-related charges after an investigation by Huntsville police, news outlets reported Wednesday.
Ismael Roldan, 37, was charged with attempted sexual abuse and enticing a child and booked into the Madison County Jail before being released on bond, court documents showed.
A statement from the university said the charges weren’t related to Roldan’s work as an officer on the campus, located north of Huntsville. The school said it employs state-certified officers for the campus security department.
Court records did not include the name of an attorney for Roldan.
