How gas prices have changed in Anniston in the last week
All but roughly 16 states now have average gas prices under $3, enough to drag the overall national average below $3 for the first time in years, according to some measurements.
GasBuddy has recorded a $2.97 per gallon national average for gas based on its tracking of price data at around 150,000 retail gas locations. Metro area commuters in states including Michigan, Indiana, Wyoming, Virginia, and Georgia are seeing prices dip into the $2.90 range in recent weeks.
“The good news is that we’ll likely continue to see additional downward pressure on gas prices, with the national average potentially falling another 10 to 15 cents by Christmas,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.
