An Alabama man was killed Friday when the ATV he was operating struck an embankment and threw him from the vehicle, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a Troy, Alabama, man.

Elvis W. Bowles, 41, was fatally injured when the 2022 CFORCE 800XC ATV he was operating left the roadway and struck an embankment.

Bowles was thrown from the ATV and pronounced deceased at the scene, state troopers reported.

The crash occurred on Athens Church Road near Golden Road, approximately 4 miles east of Luverne, in Crenshaw County.
