An Alabama 2-year-old girl drowned Thursday in a pond, authorities said.

Lawrence County officials said Adalynn Guleff was rushed from a residence in the 1600 block of Alabama 157 Thursday afternoon.

Deputies performed CPR and the child was transported to a hospital where medical staff continued to try and resuscitate the girl.

She was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m.
