An Alabama woman woman has been arrested after her baby was found with marijuana in its system, police said.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said Christina Yanacheak, 41, was arrested on a warrant on the charge of chemical endangerment on November 30.

McMann said on May 28, 2022, the APD was notified by the Escambia County Department of Human Resources of a child born at North Baldwin Infirmary that tested positive for marijuana.

“Atmore police investigators attempted several times to contact the mother, Yanacheak, but were unable to contact her,” McMann said.

Yanacheak was placed under arrest and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
