An Alabama man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for molesting a child.
The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office said Calvin Law was sentenced this week in connection to a 2019 crime for which he was convicted of last month.
Judge Brooks has sentenced Calvin Law to 40 years for each of the two Sodomy 1st counts that he was convicted of – a total of 80 years in prison with no good time and no option for parole.
“With the help of a courageous child and the expertise of the Child Victim Prosecution Team at the DA’s office, Calvin Law will never be able to harm another child again,” says Keith Blackwood, Mobile County District Attorney.
In 2019, a brave child came forward reporting the abuse of Calvin Law to the authorities. The Child Victim Prosecution Team at the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office and the Child Advocacy Center worked together to bring justice to the young victim.
The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney Theresa Harris and Trial Coordinator Jillian Williams.
