An Alabama woman was killed Tuesday after her car struck a tractor trailer, state troopers said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 8:34 a.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Lynn, Alabama, woman.

Shirley F. Griffith, 78, was fatally injured when the 2008 Nissan Sentra she was driving struck the 2022 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Darrell Aldridge, 57, of Newton, Mississippi.

Griffith was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Alabama 13 near the 264 mile marker, approximately 2 miles south of Haleyville.
