An Alabama man was killed early Wednesday when his car struck a tree and flipped over, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:53 a.m. Wednesday, and claimed the life of a Hayden man.

Dylan C. Chappell, 19, was fatally injured when the 2010 Cadillac STS that he was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

He was not using his seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Blount County 45 near Orchard Circle, approximately four miles west of Nectar, in Blount County.
