An Alabama 12-year-old died Thursday, four days after she was found partially submerged in a swimming pool, officials said Friday.

The girl was identified as Truth Archie, 12, of Birmingham, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reported.

She was found Sunday afternoon in an above ground swimming pool in the 900 block of Charles Court in Birmingham, where she lived. She was found partially submerged in the pool.

She was taken to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. She was pronounced dead on Thursday.

Birmingham police are investigating along with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
