Tornado touches down in southwest Alabama Monday afternoon

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in southwest Alabama.The
The weather service reports that the twister touched down just after 12:40 p.m. Monday in Saraland.
At one point the weather service advised to residents in Mobile County : “A tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.”
As the tornado moved north, it created more damage in Creola, including several downed trees.
