Two Alabama teens killed in separate weekend accidents

West Alabama residents are mourning the deaths of two teens who lost their lives in separate weekend car accidents.

One teen was killed in an accident shortly after midnight Sunday. The teen died when the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving left the road and hit a ditch on Hwy 82 near the 66 miles marker, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The teen was not reportedly not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the SUV.

The second death was reported from an accident that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday.  According to troopers, two teens were in a 2008 GMC Sierra ran off the road when it hit a culvert and overturned on Alabama 219 near mile marker 39. The passenger, who was a teenager, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, who was also a teenager, was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

The identities of the victims in both accidents were not released and are under investigation by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division.
