An Alabama shopper had police scrambling after his handgun fell out of his pocket and discharged.

Mobile police responded to the call of a shot being fired at The Shoppes at Bel Air shopping center Friday evening.

Police arrived at the mall at around 5:29 p.m.

Witnesses told officers that a man was inside the mall when his handgun fell out of his pocket and discharged when it hit the floor. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, Blakely said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
