Alabama law enforcement authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old.

At approximately 1 a.m., Montevallo Police reported a 19-year-old male was shot at the Wolf Creek Apartments located in the 800 Block of Shelby Street.

The individual was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he was later pronounced dead, police reported.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community,” a police spokesman reported on social media. “This is an ongoing investigation, so more details may be released at a later time.”

The Montevallo Police Department is asking for anyone with information on the deadly incident to contact investigator Gray at 205-665-1264.
