Authorities said a man’s dead body was found floating in an Alabama lake Friday morning, prompting an investigation into the man’s identity.

The discovery was made at approximately 11 a.m. Friday on Lake Guntersville, Marshall County Coroner Cody Nugent told local media.

Nugent said the man was only identified initially as a middle-aged Black man. Officials said they believe the man was not local.

Investigators said they do not believe foul play was involved in his death.
